Collision Avoidance System is developed by e-Marine in collaboration with Hyundai Heavy Industries. It is a system that analyzes potential dangers, calculates the probability of collision (from vessel to any of the danger targets), and recommends a route and a heading to avoid such danger. CAS is compatible with ECDIS, ECS, and Autopilot, and is made to complement mariner’s decision making process.
About 30% of all maritime accidents are caused by collision (Source?). About 80% of all maritime accidents are caused by human error. CAS will reduce human error significantly, thereby reducing the number of accidents caused by collision.
This is a complementary system to ECDIS. It can be used hand-in-hand with Voyage Optimization System. Route Transfer can be done between ECDIS, Voyage Optimization, and CAS.
Collision Probability Calculation
CAS calculates the probability of collision from vessel to any of the targets within the Risk Radius. The danger targets within the Risk Radius is color marked by their danger level, with color red indicating imminent danger.
Indication, Caution, and/or Alarm is provided depending on the risk of collision. Danger targets are marked with color and danger level. A large flashing indication is displayed over the chart when danger is forthcoming.
Route transfer can be done between CAS, ECDIS, and VOS (Contact Us for more information on ECDIS, or VOS)
Digital Chart Support
supports any ENCs, UKHO charts, and Jeppesen charts.
